WISERUNION work notes: positioning, responsibilities and what comes next

Notes on WISERUNION and Wiser Asset: their positioning, the four groups they serve, business responsibilities and the order of work. A few reminders for what comes next. First, agree on the understanding, then connect it to specific work.

Over the past two days, I went through the plans for WISERUNION and Wiser Asset again. I first clarified the positioning, who they serve, their value and how the work is divided. Then I worked through how to move each part forward. I'm writing down a few work notes today so I can pick up from here.

First, clarify the roles of both sides

WISERUNION centers on stakeholder capital governance. It connects knowledge, independent resources and enterprise services, and undertakes practical work through Company Zero. Company Zero's planning, operations and collaborative work all sit within WISERUNION.

Wiser Asset follows WISERUNION's theoretical framework. It presents and delivers Company Zero's software products, and uses software to govern Company Zero's capital and rights. It also carries out asset and project work centered on asset research and capital governance, and provides NST software and governance services.

For now, I'm moving forward with this division of work. WISERUNION connects principles, methods, people, organizations and actual work. Wiser Asset moves the corresponding software, governance and asset project applications forward. Problems found in practice go back into the theory, methods and products for improvement.

Be specific about who benefits

For now, I'm working with four groups.

For people using the knowledge, the core value is to understand the principles, form judgments and apply what they learn. Theory, the think tank, books and education need to explain the problems, evidence and methods clearly. Examples and actual use then help people put that knowledge to work.

For independent individuals and organizations, the aim is to help them be understood accurately, be found by the right people, stay in contact, collaborate by choice, and build their own achievements and growth. Profiles need to show their expertise, work and actual capabilities. Listing them preserves their independent identities. Specific cooperation is confirmed through their willingness and the actual roles they will provide.

For companies and project teams with specific needs, the aim is to help them form judgments based on evidence, get workable plans, find suitable expertise, clarify governance relationships, and receive results that can be accepted and used over time. This means working through the needs, providers, scope and delivery responsibilities one by one.

For Company Zero's participants and contributors, the direction, place in the work, specific tasks and support need to be clear. Actual work helps them build capabilities and results, have their contributions recognized, receive the compensation or other benefits that apply, and have a say and take part in governance according to their roles and agreements. Attribution, use of results, rights and other arrangements all need actual grounds and agreements.

How the different parts connect

Knowledge provides principles and methods. Resources bring independent expertise. Enterprise services organize these capabilities to solve specific problems and deliver the work. Through collaborative work, Company Zero tests ways of organizing and governance arrangements. Wiser Asset carries the applications in software and asset projects.

These parts support each other and also have value on their own. People can read, maintain profiles, provide professional services or contribute according to their own needs and conditions. How far cooperation goes depends on the actual work.

Business responsibilities also need to be clear. WISERUNION handles its own theory, content, platform, methods and operations. Independent individuals and organizations provide expertise within the agreed scope. Wiser Asset handles the corresponding software governance and asset project work. Whether the work is delivered independently, jointly or through coordination and introductions, it needs to be clear who is responsible, what is delivered and who follows through afterward.

What comes next

The near-term direction is fairly clear now: organize usable knowledge and resources, connect contact and participation processes with someone responsible for them, and then complete a real piece of collaborative work.

The website follows this sequence:

  1. Explain the value of each section on the homepage.
  2. Improve profiles for people and organizations.
  3. Connect search and relationship browsing.
  4. Establish email processes for listings and participation.
  5. Run think tank and book editing collaboration.

The parts already completed can be checked and reused. Content preparation and finding the people for the work can happen in parallel. Next, I'll prioritize one think tank topic or book chapter, settle the materials, tasks, participants, output and review process, and complete something usable first.

Enterprise services with real demand, actual providers and delivery conditions can proceed in parallel. Wiser Asset's five areas—NST software, governance, investment research, investment and financing, and post-investment work—will also continue from the work already underway.

After a round of work and feedback from use, I'll make the reusable content, methods and services more consistent. Systems and tools will be improved according to real needs. Investment of resources and expansion will follow the actual conditions.

What this round of work has left behind

The overall plan and the detailed plans for the website, think tank, books and education, products and services, operations, Wiser Asset coordination and the digital platform have been organized and archived. Eight separate alignment records also capture the positioning, value for the four groups, business boundaries, relationships between the parts and the implementation path.

For now, I'll use these records to carry forward the latest agreements, then fold them into the next version of the overall plan and the detailed plans. The specific topics, people responsible, budgets and schedules still need to be settled.

I also made a local HTML entry page for the reference center. It shows what was completed each day, what has been agreed, where the work outputs are and what remains to be done. It supports search, categories, reading the text and opening the original files. That makes it easier to keep building on the work.

At the same time, I completed changes that separate the investment research and investment overview pages for the three mine projects on Wiser Asset. Each mine's text, related materials and navigation point to its own project. The overview keeps a shared entry for choosing a project, and the code was submitted through the PR process. It's one small step in putting the division of work into specific pages.

A few reminders for myself

  • Fold this round of agreements into the next version of the plans, keeping the original drafts and the reasons for the revisions.
  • Choose the first think tank or book editing task, and clarify the materials, people responsible, output and acceptance criteria.
  • Check resource profiles against the actual provider relationships, and settle who follows through on contact and participation requests.
  • For enterprise services and each Wiser Asset area, list the current outputs, the next output and its dependencies separately.
  • Keep a record of progress, outputs, feedback and pending work each time, so I and the people working with me can pick up from there.

I think the key at this stage is to connect what has been clarified with specific work. Next, I'll take it one item at a time. Finish one item, keep the result, then continue adjusting based on feedback.
