# Source materials E01–E08

Andrew David W.Y. · T03 exercise material 01

Every business, role, document and number is an independently written fictional teaching scenario, unrelated to actual brands or customers. “Existing” and “confirmed” in these simulated records describe only the scenario's evidence status; they do not mean real business has occurred.

## Task

Introduce this business to the head of a small multi-store retail team encountering the proposal for the first time. Produce a positioning sentence, an explanatory paragraph and a one-page mechanism diagram, supported by the same evidence.

You may reorder the explanation, but must not change fact status to sound more persuasive. E07 is early copy requiring review, not evidence of current capabilities or achievements.

## Evidence cards

### E01 | Current stage and audience

Status: scenario setting

The team is designing a store campaign-material collaboration service. It has made desktop samples but has not tried the service in real stores. This introduction addresses heads of small multi-store retail teams who are new to the proposal.

### E02 | Intended audience and problem hypothesis

Status: awaiting validation against real needs

The intended audience is small retail teams with several stores and no dedicated design coordinator. Scattered campaign requirements in chats, differing store prices/dates and difficulty confirming final usable versions are hypotheses to test. There are no actual customer interviews or demand statistics.

### E03 | Proposed deliverables

Status: service design

For each store campaign, the proposed outputs are a confirmed requirements form, shared style template, store-specific versions, final version catalogue and change log. Fees, turnaround time and supported number of stores are undecided.

### E04 | Proposed workflow and responsibilities

Status: service design

A campaign owner appointed by the retail team consolidates information and confirms text, prices, dates and store differences. The service team prepares layouts; the owner returns checking comments; after revision the team delivers a numbered, status-labelled version catalogue for the owner to confirm usable versions. Each store arranges its own printing or online publication. The team records feedback for the next campaign. Unconfirmed or changed versions return for checking and must not be handed over directly as usable.

### E05 | Desktop sample records

Status: simulated materials available for inspection

The exercise includes a mock requirements form, written shared-style rules, two store-specific draft-field tables and a version-change/handover catalogue. They let learners check fields, differences and status alignment; they cannot prove actual service completion or effects.

### E06 | Feedback and evidence of effects

Status: unverified

There are no real-store trials, customer reviews, comparable efficiency measurements, error-rate records, willingness-to-pay evidence or sales-change records. Desktop samples support checks of the intended deliverable format only, not claims of fewer errors, greater efficiency or higher sales.

### E07 | Claims requiring review in an early draft

Status: draft requiring deletion, revision or evidence

Early copy claimed a “global intelligent brand-growth platform”, “automatic synchronization of all stores”, “100% elimination of material errors”, “80% greater efficiency” and “guaranteed 30% campaign-sales increase”. Existing materials support none of these capabilities, scale or effects. Do not carry these claims directly into finished copy.

### E08 | Future ideas and next step

Status: plan, not implemented

The team proposes a small real-world trial using manual collaboration, then checking the problem hypothesis, delivery burden and usage feedback. Automatic synchronization with store systems is only a future idea and has not been developed. Trial participants, price, period and formal arrangements remain unconfirmed.

## Start with three tasks

- Put the evidence-supported parts of each card in the four-question table, with fact IDs.
- Separate needs hypotheses, service design, desktop samples, real trials and effects. Do not upgrade simulation materials into actual business evidence.
- For E07's grand claims and figures, decide separately whether to delete, recast as a plan or retain as requiring evidence; do not copy them unchanged into finished content.
